When students want to get thrown out...

I teach grades six through 12 in an alternative education program so behaviors are somewhat more pronounced than perhaps what they are in a regular classroom. We are constantly working on behavior management and modification by teaching and reteaching what is appropriate and what is not. It is working and the majority of students are trying to make the changes that they need to make in order to find some academic success. My question is what do I do with the student or students who are purposely trying to get suspended? I usually know via word of mouth when a particular student is trying to do this, and I use planned ignoring along with a bit of humor to cope, but when a student is totally disrupting class, I have to make a choice, kick the kid out and try to salvage as much class time as I can or scrap the entire period. What strategies have worked for others and what hope is there for the kid or kids who are constantly trying to get thrown out of school?
